Chart Art Fair
The CHART organization, needed a new website for their upcoming event, but this year something had changed! Chart was no longer purely art driven, but had expanded to encompass a section about nordic design and had added a series of social events.
The very skilled danish digital agency STROMWORKS hired Ignite Studio as a subcontractor to be responsible for the entirety of the frontend of this project, and it would soon prove to be a collaboration that would make sparks fly. Everyone on the team had a mutual understanding of what the customer expected, and an equally high level of ambition for this project.
Transition above the average
From the very early designs it was obvious that the website would be very image driven, and I was given the go ahead to just work out some smooth way of presenting the images. Focusing on what I saw as the main attention grabber, I put an extra effort into the big hero image slider used on the frontpage and throughout the sub pages. I wanted to implement a transition above the ordinary and hopefully delight the end user with something you don't see every day.
More than an art fair
For CHART it was very important to convey the message that they were more than an art fair, but that their fair was also about design and had a rich social environment, but that they still maintained the CHART quality and atmosphere. To convey this message I implemented a floating header and sub navigation for the frontpage. As the user scrolls the page the headline, manchet and subnavigation would transform to represent the section in the users view, but all the while, keep the ”CHART” part in focus.
The project turned out a great success that delighted the customer and ensured that they were able to meet their deadline for launching the website and have all the kinks worked out in a pre release test period.
